SPRING
2007
Yes, dear friends, it has been some time since my last posting. The
Year of the Boar has brought such a series of tragedies, heartache,
bad luck and ill will that I’ve found it difficult to compose
my usual cheery missives. What I had intended to dub the Year of Gusto
has instead become the Year of Loss and Grieving. Ultimately, in these
dark days, it is more important than ever to celebrate life (no matter
how tenuous), to create work that resonates (no matter how difficult),
to seek out beauty and solace (no matter how fleeting), and to appreciate
the joys of the everyday (no matter how tiny). And so we hunker down
and soldier on, looking for that light at the end of the tunnel…
